General terms and conditions
Reservations
You can call the resort of your choice directly for bungalow or pitch reservations. You will receive a confirmation of the reservation within two weeks. The confirmation also serves as proof of reservation.
Payment
You have to pay 50% of the amount owing within 2 weeks after receipt of confirmation. The remaining amount should be deposited in our bank or giro account at least one month before your arrival.
Cancellation
If, for any reasons whatsoever, you are unable to use the reserved bungalow, mobile home, appartment, chalet or pitch, you are required to pay the following amounts: 15% of the agreed amount when you cancel 3 months prior to the arrival date. 50% when you cancel 2 months prior to the arrival date, 75% when you cancel 1 month prior to arrival and 90% when you cancel within 1 month prior to arrival. Full payment is required if you cancel on the arrival date. We advise you to take out RCN cancellation insurance. RCN also offers a special cancellation insurance for seasonal campers. We recommend you to add our cancellation insurance to your booking.
House rules
All guests have to comply with the house rules of the resort. You can find these rules in the information brochure handed to you upon arrival. Any infringement of the house rules can result in expulsion from the resort without being entitled to any refund of the rental price or part thereof.
Rental prices of bungalows, mobile homes and campsite
RCN rental prices are all inclusive. Except for administration costs, government taxes (for our Dutch resorts), the tourist tax (this varies per centre), and a pet fee, you do not have to pay any extras when you camp or stay in a bungalow or mobile home.
All stated rates include low-rate VAT of 6% in the Netherlands. If the current VAT rate differs for the accommodation period, we will reserve the right to charge the difference.
Liability
Recreatiecentra Nederland (RCN) is not liable for:
- damages or injuries arising from your stay at a RCN resort or the use of the on-site facilities;
- facilities and/or amenities that are out of order and/or out of use.
Pets
Pets are welcome at RCN after payment of a pet fee. You can bring only one pet per bungalow, mobile home or chalet. Maximum two pets (dog or cat) are allowed per pitch. A request should be made to bring a second pet. At RCN de Schotsman one pet (restricted, upon request) is allowed on certain parts of the site. No pets are allowed in the bungalows, appartments and mobile homes of RCN de Schotsman.
RCN Anti-Rain Vacation Guarantee
Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately!) RCN cannot ensure perfect weather for every holiday. We will do everything we can to make you feel comfortable and to give you an enjoyable holiday, but RCN knows that a rainy holiday is always a little frustrating. RCN therefore offers you the extra financial comfort you need should this happen. The main rule we follow is: If in July and August 2013, it rains at least 4 hours per day during:
- the first 12 days of your camping holiday of three weeks or longer, or
- 6 days or more of your bungalow holiday of at least 2 weeks at the Dutch RCN holidaypark where you’re staying, then RCN will give you a €150.00 discount on your camping holiday (of at least 3 weeks) or a €300.00 discount on your bungalow holiday (of at least 2 weeks) in 2014.

RECRON terms and conditions
RECRONS terms and conditions apply to all Dutch RCN agreements. The aforementioned RECRON terms and conditions are available for perusal at the reception desk of the resorts.
Parking
One parking space is available for each bungalow, mobile home and pitch.
Arbitration Board
Should any dispute arise between you and a RCN resort that cannot be settled amicably, you can submit the dispute to the Recreation Arbitration Board. The Arbitration Board was set up at the initiative of RECRON (Recreatie Ondernemers Nederland). Besides RECRON, the ANWB (Royal Dutch Touring Club) and the Consumentenbond (Consumers' organisation) also sit on the board. An independent chairman will be appointed by the Stichting Consumentenklachten (Consumer Complaints Commission).
The address of the Recreation Arbitration Board is:
Postbus 90600, 2509 LP Den Haag.
