50-plus: enjoying nature and culture

With is wealth of trees and shrubs, RCN het Grote Bos, which means ‘the Large Forest’, has certainly earned its name. As a camper, you can have a pitch deep in the woods. Explore the camping site by foot and discover a stunning natural pond, a butterfly garden and a bee area. Although the holiday park is set in natural surroundings, there is plenty of culture in the immediate area to enjoy as well, such as castles, palaces and museums.

Walking and cycling

Walking and cycling

RCN het Grote Bos borders on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park. Our park extends into the woods, which has beautiful trails for walking. You can get around the whole national park by bicycle, but be prepared to do some climbing as the area is slightly hilly.

Sightseeing in the area

RCN het Grote Bos is located close to the town of Doorn. Be sure to visit Huis Doorn, the final residence and resting place of Wilhelm II, the last German emperor. Also visit the area around the Kromme Rijn and Nederrijn rivers, which is dotted with castles and historical places of interest.
