CASTLES

The Dordogne, otherwise known as the Périgord, contains more than a thousand castles and stately homes. There are also many castles in the Vézère valley to visit. Of course, not all of these are open to the public, but it’s often enough just to get to see the castle from the outside. There are a number of castles near to the campsite that are worth visiting. The most interesting are Castelnaud (14 km), Les Milandes (12 km), Beynac (25 km) and Biron (25 km).
