In times gone by, het Grote Bos was part of the Hydepark rural estate. This holiday paradise is located very centrally in the Netherlands, to the south-east of the city of Utrecht, between Driebergen and Doorn, in the heart of the woods.
The slightly hilly area with many woods, full of scenic beauty, changes to rural areas where fruit is grown, and to river landscapes. The area borders on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park, so there is even more nature for you to enjoy!
Amongst all this nature, you can discover rabbits, squirrels, roe deer and many species of birds. You might even spot some of the rarer species, such as woodpeckers, owls and buzzards.
The detached holiday bungalows are situated in the woods and there are camping fields with spacious pitches. You will find this the ideal place to relax and have a rest.
And if you are in search of liveliness, you can visit the restaurant, which has a bar and magic bowling alleys.
Your children will be able to play to their hearts’ content in the many playgrounds, which are spread throughout the grounds, so there will also be one near your camping pitch or bungalow.
Swimming
The whole family can enjoy whizzing down the gigantic slide, landing with a big splash in the lovely heated water of our open air swimming pool. Or let yourself be carried along by the river rapids. The swimming pool is open from the beginning of May to the beginning of September.
The youngest children can play in the separate pools, especially for their age group. They can also have fun on the play equipment located in the spacious sunbathing area.
You will find this water paradise in the middle of the park.
You can also go swimming outside the park, for example at the Henschotermeer recreational lake or enjoy a Mediterranean feeling in De Zwoer Swimming Paradise in Driebergen, which is also near by.
