We researched a large number of camp sites and eventually decided on zeewolde as it was advertised as a teenage friendly site, there was a large number activities show for the older child and with 2 very active boys to keep entertained it is important we find the right venue. I emailed before our arrival to find out how activities were booked, we downloaded the app as instructed to do, but the app didnt explain how to book and most activities it seemed to indicate you just turned up at the start time. Our first day activities we were told the boys couldn't join in as we'd not booked but there wasn't an option to book when we looked. We then booked and paid for the boys to have a morning of wind surfing lessons, the night before the session we received an email to explain we could only participate if we spoke Dutch, this wasn't mentioned anywhere on your website or on the booking form. Another failed activity. A number of other activities offered by the site were incredibly busy to the point it was chaos, the older boys football was cancelled due to people messing around and no-one seemed to be taking control of the session, the slip n slide session had a massive queue and after waiting 30 minutes we still hadnt had a turn. On arriving at the site we were informed the pool was broken, this remained shut for the first 5 days of our holiday, then once it was open it was so busy it was hard to actually enjoy. All very disappointing factors, especially as we'd chosen this site because of its advertised activities. Also when we spoke to reception about these issues they didnt seem bothered and just shrugged their shoulders.
