Independent Chef (Season 2027)

As an independent chef at RCN le Moulin de la Pique, you play an important role in our kitchen. During the low season, you will mainly work independently, while in the busy high season, you will work alongside a team of kitchen colleagues. You know how to keep things organised, motivate your colleagues and ensure that every guest enjoys a delicious meal.

Your responsibilities include:

• Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, from cold starters to hot meals and desserts.
• Taking care of the mise en place and ensuring everything is ready for service.
• Following HACCP guidelines and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Keeping the kitchen organised and running smoothly, even during busy periods.
• Working with the RCN menu guidelines and cookbook while adding your own creativity.
• Using local ingredients and contributing ideas for seasonal dishes.
• Helping prepare special themed evenings and other culinary activities.

You enjoy working independently, take pride in your cooking and know how to create a positive atmosphere in the kitchen. You can manage your own responsibilities while working well with colleagues when the park gets busy.

RCN le Moulin de la Pique is a five-star campsite on a historic estate in the Dordogne, the land of a thousand and one castles, surrounded by rolling green valleys and magnolias. The showpiece is Aquapark la Pique, a water park with four swimming pools and three spectacular water slides. Park management speaks Dutch. 

The atmosphere on the park is warm and informal. You really do it together, pitch in across teams when needed, and there is always something fun going on. The teams are diverse: you work with Dutch and international colleagues. A real holiday atmosphere, even behind the scenes.

You love cooking, enjoy taking responsibility and can keep a cool head when things get busy.

• You are at least 20 years old.
• You have a relevant qualification or several years of professional kitchen experience.
• You speak English. French or Dutch is not required, but is an advantage.
• You are available to work for at least six weeks during July and August 2027.
• You can work independently, organise your tasks and maintain a clean, safe kitchen.
• You enjoy working with others and contributing to a positive team atmosphere.

Your employment conditions follow the French collective labour agreement for campsites and holiday parks, known as HPA (Hôtellerie de Plein Air). Your salary ranges from €2,181.66 to €2,221.18 gross per month, depending on your knowledge and experience. Accommodation at the park. If commuting is impractical, you can stay at the holiday park with your colleagues. This also makes it easy to socialise outside working hours. Opportunities to develop.
