Lifeguard

RCN Val de Cantobre , Nant - Aveyron

Do you feel like a fish in the water, are you sporty, unafraid to act when necessary and looking for a job where you really help people? Then we are looking for you to be our new lifeguard colleague. A challenging job with a lot of responsibility, pleasant colleagues and always that holiday atmosphere!

Who we are

RCN Val de Cantobre lies in the middle of the unspoilt Les Grands Causses Regional Natural Park with breath-taking, panoramic views over limestone highlands and wooded hills. The terraces are situated on the southern side of the mountain and always in the sun! The surroundings are perfect for cyclists and hikers. But for those who like adventure there are plenty of sporting challenges such as canoeing, canyoning, paragliding or extreme bungee jumping with leaps from 46 to 107 metres height!

Your role

One of our guests’ favourite activities is swimming. Jumping in or diving into the water, or competitions to see who is first to the other end. As the lifeguard you make sure that they can enjoy water-play in the swimming pool safely and without any worries.

What you will be doing

You will maintain continuous supervision over our guests’ safety. Always with a big smile on your face. You will point out the swimming pool rules politely but also will enjoy chatting to them. As a true water hero you will immediately spring into action if necessary and give first aid, resuscitation and/or rescue anyone in difficulties in the pool. In addition, you will verify that all the safety resources are in place and that the personal equipment is in good order. You will keep a logbook up to date, check the slide and the associated steps for unsafe situations and hygiene. You will also be sure to give the guests a warm welcome and whenever necessary help out at reception or on the till. Obviously, you and your colleagues will look after cleaning and tidying up the swimming pool and grounds.

What we are looking for

A lot! But that’s what makes it so challenging and instructive. Working in a holiday park demands flexibility and hard work. Needless to say, you understand that this job will entail working at weekends and on public holidays, all during the holiday season.

You:

  • are at least 18 years old
  • have good social skills
  • get on well with people
  • make contacts easily
  • are able to work both independently and in a team
  • have a great sense of responsibility
  • are spontaneous, customer-friendly and hospitable
  • are sportive
  • knowledge of French, Dutch and/or German is not essential but is a nice-to-have
  • are the holder of a certificate in first aid /emergency safety at work
  • can provide a recent Certificate of Conduct
  • are available for a minimum of 6 weeks in July and August

What we offer

Working in a holiday atmosphere for a growing organisation! A job full of variety at a fantastic location. We will give you a lot of autonomy and self-responsibility. As an employee with us you’ll have lots of space for new ideas and excellent growth opportunities for self-development. You’ll be in the countryside, meeting lots of pleasant visitors as part of a tight team of pleasant colleagues at one of France’s most enjoyable holiday parks. Accommodation at the park is possible but not mandatory. If you stay in the park, you will be charged a small contribution. You will be working under a French contract.
