Sightseeing in the Dordogne

Activities for everyone

RCN le Moulin de la Pique is an ideal base from which to explore the cultural heritage and natural beauty of the Dordogne. In the first place, there is the Dordogne River that runs near our park. Rent a canoe and paddle to picturesque villages and medieval castles. You can also venture into the rugged backcountry and go rock climbing to enjoy stunning views, descend into the depths of a stalactite cave or visit beautifully restored medieval towns such as Sarlat and Monpazier. The entire Dordogne region is a patchwork of magnificent forests, vivid green meadows and sweeping vineyards. Get to know the local history, traditions and crafts of the Périgord, such as the vineyards where the famous Bergerac and Cahors wines are made.

Airparc Périgord

Airparc Périgord

If you are interested in survival trips and adventurous activities, then visit Airparc Périgord. The Dordogne is also an absolute paradise for canoeing enthusiasts.

The fortress town of Pays de Belvès

The fortress town of Pays de Belvès

Just a short stroll from the park is the fortress town of Pays de Belvès with its seven belfries, historical buildings, and cave dwellings under the market place.

Château Castelnaud

Château Castelnaud

Taking a peek inside a medieval castle is always a fun activity. How did the knights of Château Castelnaud live? The birds of prey show at Château Milandes is also well worth seeing.
