Great camping

Great camping without any doubts, a lot of water sports available, small beach for children, facilities were great, prive sanitaire was very clean and in ideal state. In case of rain you can to inside swimming pool or spend time in brasserie playing cards and enjoying food, really great vacation.

Bald, muddy and flooded

Came on a club holiday with 200 others, the park didnt accomodate us to camp together which we didnt understand as it had been booked well in advance. We understand the weather had been bad, but our pitchwas in an awful flooded state.

Very good campsite

The holiday park was a very well kept,clean ,easy access to all facilities. The staff we met were really lovely and helpful. The men in the snack bar were extremely welcoming. The reception staff were super , and maintenance team equally so. Facilities so clean.

Large Holiday with good facilities

Reception, Bistro and swimming pool very good. Toilet and shower facilities good but showers were lukewarm. Pitches a little untidy but this may have been due to the wet weather.

Nice accomodation

Chalet was good and nicely equiped with well equiped kitchen,. We thought the restarant was expensive., so only used it on the last nights group meal, We were dissapointed that having come fot the tandem rally that everyone was spread out over a large area of the site. On big sites in the Netherlands before they have managed to reasonably group people together.

International Tandem rally

On our arrival we was greeted nicely by a member of reception staff who went out of her way to accommodate us after we found our first pitch completely water logged and unsuitable to pitch a tent on.

Poor dirty campsite

Very wet over used muddy pitches. Toilets and showers were not cleaned properly/all week. Lack of soap in toilets near surf centre. Taps on pitch had blocked drain. Park did not feel welcoming or flexible. Last visited 20 years ago when facilities were ok and cleaned.

Wet, wet, wet

We were tent camping, and were dismayed to find a fall lake on our pitch when we arrived, with ducks nearby. We found one small spot dry enough to set up on. But after two nights of rain with still more rain in the forecast, we cut our stay short and left 5 days early.

Excellent

The campsite had everything we needed. The food from the takeaway was cheap and very nice. The restaurant was more pricey but the food was exceptional. Toilets and shower were great and clean. The only downside was that as a part of a large rally we were all separated out and it lost that rally feeling.

Tandem rally Daw

We had a very wet muddy pitch. The restaurant had a very poor menus. Shop was well stocked. Swimming pools were lovely. The toilets were far too far away from our pitch and the showers were not very hot. The area and cleanliness of site was great. Great cycling area. In general had a lovely stay except for the wet muddy pitch lacking in sun light.

Great experience for our first camping

We booked a camping pitch with electricity and water supply, which was a good decision. The entry was easy, although there were technical problems with the barrier and a big queue was forming at the entrance. We also had quite a difficult time to find our specific pitch, the instructions/labels were not so clear. After that all went well. I found the toilets a bit far from our pitch, especially during the night. I did not find clear instructions about the waste collection, where to put the thrash bags, how to separate, etc. Overall a good experience though. Nice pool inside and outside, good snack bar, very nice brasserie.

Nice site

The site was lovely, lots of water sports available. Good sized pitches, quiet at night. Our nearest shower block, by the swimming pool was in need of updating, but there are other much nicer shower blocks around the site. The shop was quite small could be improved by selling a larger selection. The site seemed to have trouble staffing the takeaway and restaurant. But overall a lovely holiday, nice relaxing site, excellent swimming pool and facilities for little ones. The reception staff were incredibly helpful and polite.

Great stay

Your site is located in a lovely part of the Netherlands and we had a very pleasant holiday. The outdoor pool was very good. The shower and toilet block are smart and kept clean. The very localised children's spaces are good. The away from pitch car park also adds an extra level of safety for the children. I will be staying again and I would recommend. The pitch is 'just big enough' but sadly the pitch next to us expanded beyond their space. I believe a simple improvement would be to give a very clear marking where each pitch begins and ends. The chemical disposal (elsan) is a little below par, but perfectly functional.

Nice park, lovely location, bungalow and grass could do with some care

Surprisingly did not feel very busy considering the size of the campsite. Outdoor pool was fabulous. Shop is very very small, great for fresh breakfast items but presumably they expect you to shop in the grocery story in Kamperland - not far away. Playground with zip line in front of the brasserie was ideal for watching our son enjoy himself whilst we had drinks. Beach at Vrowuwen polder is massive but a looong walk to the sea. One hour wait for a pizza from the snackbar was bad. Would have been quicker to drive to the grocery store and put one in the oven! Bunglaow was ok, cleaning could be better - dirty walls, and grouting and dust bunnies under the furniture. Grass outside needs attention. Overall it's nice but expensive for a short break.

Lovely accomodation, great site by water.

We really enjoyed our 3 nights in a 4 bedroom chalet...very neat and clean accomodation, good facilities (note there is no oven, but hob and microwave) Good indoor and outdoor pool with slides, gym, nice looking cafe/restaurant, really helpful friendly staff, shop on site selling fresh bread, milk and groceries. We really enjoyed renting a boat and seeing the area of water...recommend staying there.

Comfortable accommodation in a lovely area

We booked two nights in a safari tent as a break from putting up and taking down our own tent whilst touring Belgium and the Netherlands. The tent was well equipped and comfortable. The park is in a lovely position sited next to Veerse Meer. We hired bikes to cycle to Veere and to explore the harbour, sea defences etc. Staff at Reception and in the shop seemed equally at home in English as in Dutch and German. The park seemed to cater well for children and would be an ideal location to bring grandchildren if I ever get any!

Three weeks at de Schotsman site in Zeeland

This was our third visit. We came from England with our touring caravan in September. Our main interest was cycling. We dined at your restaurant in the evening and liked it. Whilst the new reception and restaurant building was good we missed the supermarket which provided all our groceries. We also were surprised to find we needed to take our rubbish to the facility near the exit gate. Also there was no grey water disposal arrangement other than taking it to the shower block. It would have been helpful if we had been told this on arrival. The other caravan users in our area were “all season” owners from Germany and were excellent neighbours. We enjoyed watching the windsurfers on windy days. Using our ACSI Card helped with the cost. Shopping in the area still required use of a debit card instead of a credit card at some outlets. No doubt we will go back to Schotsman and next time will go in June or July as September proved rather wet!
