General information
What are the cancellation terms at RCN?
Bookings at RCN holiday parks are subject to the RECRON terms and conditions.
You can cancel your booking free of charge within 48 hours of making it (cooling-off period). After that, the following cancellation fees apply:
- More than 3 months in advance: 15% of the agreed price.
- 2–3 months in advance: 50% of the agreed price.
- 1–2 months in advance: 75% of the agreed price.
- Within 1 month: 90% of the agreed price.
- On the day of arrival: 100% of the agreed price.
Preference fees are always charged in full.
To limit financial risks, you can take out cancellation insurance. With a valid reason, you will then be reimbursed the full trip cost.
Read more in our general terms and conditions. Want to cancel a booking? Please contact us.
What can I add to my reservation?
What does the RCN cancellation insurance cover and what is insured?
With the RCN cancellation insurance you are covered if you have to unexpectedly cancel your holiday or cut it short. You can easily take out the insurance while booking or up to 10 days afterwards.
The insurance reimburses (part of) the travel cost for example in case of illness, an accident, death in the family or other valid reasons.
The premium is 5.5% of the travel sum (excl. 21% insurance tax). The insurance can be taken out for up to 4 accommodations or pitches per reservation. Read here for more about our cancellation insurance and the policy conditions.
May my assistance or guide dog come to the holiday park?
Yes, guide dogs for the blind and assistance dogs are welcome at our holiday parks. You do not pay a pet fee for assistance dogs.
Assistance dogs are allowed in accommodations and on camping pitches where dogs are permitted. In addition, assistance dogs may accompany their owners in most facilities on the park, with the exception of the swimming pool.
What can I expect from a motorhome pitch?
Our motorhome pitches are specially designed for motorhomes and have a hard surface, for example gravel or concrete-grass pavers. This keeps your motorhome firm and stable. The remaining part of the pitch is usually grass, so you can also sit comfortably outside.
When do I need to pay for my booking?
If you book well in advance, you usually pay in two instalments. If you book shortly before arrival, you pay the full amount in one go. What is required for your booking can be found in the booking confirmation.
You can find your outstanding payments and payment instalments in MijnRCN. If you do not pay on time, you will automatically receive a payment reminder.
Payments via iDeal/Wero and credit card are processed almost immediately. A bank transfer can take several working days.
If there is only one pitch/accommodation left that I want, do I still have to pay the preferred rate?
If the last relevant pitch/accommodation is your preference, the preferred rate will also be applied here. Due to changes and/or cancellations, other pitches/accommodations may become available. Reservations without a preference can in that case be moved at any time.
How can I change my address details?
You can simply enter your new address details while making your online booking. As long as the combination of your last name and email address matches what we have on file, the address will be automatically updated in your guest record. You can also easily change the address details in My RCN under 'My details'.
How does RCN handle my personal data?
At RCN we handle your personal data with care and comply with applicable privacy legislation (GDPR). We use your data only when necessary, for example to process your booking, contact you, or to improve our services.
We collect data from you (for example when making a booking or visiting the website) and sometimes via partners or public sources. Your data is stored securely and shared only with parties necessary for our services, such as the holiday park where you stay or payment providers. Read our full privacy statement here.
You always have the right to access, correct, or delete your data. For this you can use MijnRCN or contact us via privacyofficer@rcn.nl.
Is there a chance of spotting a wolf during my holiday in the Netherlands?
You may encounter a wolf in the Netherlands. That also applies to the natural areas around our holiday parks. However, the chance of encountering a wolf is much greater abroad. There are a number of tips we would like to share — here you can read what you should and should not do if you make eye contact with a wolf.
Is it possible to indicate a preference for a non-smoking or pet-free accommodation?
All accommodations are non-smoking.
Yes, it is possible to indicate a preference for a pet-free accommodation.
You can do this in the comments field on the final step of the booking process. The preference for a pet-free accommodation is subject to availability. If you want a guaranteed pet-free accommodation, we recommend making a preferred booking.
Where can I find the terms and conditions?
May I bring my pet and what are the conditions?
Yes, at RCN dogs and cats are welcome in selected accommodations and pitches. In France a maximum of 1 pet is allowed; in the Netherlands and Germany a maximum of 2.
A surcharge per night is charged for pets. In France final cleaning is mandatory when staying with a pet. Note: pets are not allowed in facilities such as swimming pools and sanitary buildings.
Can I change my holiday booking and what are the conditions?
Yes, you can rebook your RCN holiday once for free. This can be to another park in the Netherlands, France or Germany for the same period, up to 3 days before arrival (subject to availability). For later changes or additional rebookings you pay €35. Any price differences will be settled and no refund will be given.
Rebooking to a different period at the same park is free up to 1 month before arrival, within the same calendar year.
Contact us to arrange your rebooking. Note: this does not apply to Villapark Sneekermeer and the waterside homes at RCN de Potten.
Can I still modify my reservation afterwards?
In the MijnRCN Environment you can still add articles. Would you like to change the dates, type of campsite/accommodation, the number of people or pets? Then please contact us.
What can I expect from a campsite pitch?
Pitch sites at RCN are suitable for various camping units. Pitches all have their own power supply. At some parks there are also comfort pitches or pitches with (luxury) private sanitary facilities available.
On a pitch you may place up to 2 additional small tents (maximum 5 m2 each) free of charge.
You choose the exact size, exposure (sun/shade) and location of the pitch via a preferred booking when making a reservation.
How do I reserve a seasonal pitch?
With a seasonal pitch at RCN you enjoy your own spot on the park for the whole season. You place your caravan once and can then come and go whenever you want.
Seasonal pitches are available from March through October, but shorter periods are also possible, such as only the spring or autumn season or a few weeks in the summer. See here for options, rates and the registration form.
Can I still book a stay at RCN on the day of arrival?
Yes, a last-minute booking on the day of arrival is possible, but always by arrangement. Online reservations for the same day are not possible; in that case please contact us by phone contact.
For accommodations (and pitches with private sanitary facilities) we first check whether everything can still be prepared in time. Camping pitches are usually bookable immediately.
Are you arriving outside opening hours? Make sure you have paid online in advance. After receipt of payment the park will prepare the key for you and you will receive the check-in instructions.
Can I book a group accommodation at RCN holiday parks?
At several RCN holiday parks you can come with a group. Are you looking for accommodation for a family or friends weekend or a business meeting with overnight stay? On this page you will find more information.
Is it possible to book with a group of young people?
Yes, that is possible. Guests who wish to stay as a group consisting exclusively of 4 or more young people under 21 years old (the booker must always be at least 18 years old) must indicate this in advance and it is always subject to request. A security deposit of €300 applies to these bookings.
Can I go camping in the winter?
Yes, winter camping is possible at several Dutch RCN parks. At some parks, (part of) the campsite is open all winter. At other parks you can only camp in winter on weekends and during school holidays, on specific pitches with heated sanitary facilities.
See this page for the winter camping options at your favourite holiday park.
Are there adapted accommodations available at RCN Holiday Parks?
Yes, at several RCN holiday parks adapted accommodations are available. These are step-free and have adapted sanitary facilities and an adapted kitchen.
Some accommodations are also equipped with additional amenities, such as a hoist and an adjustable-height bed. Inquire about the options by contacting us.
Do I have to pay a deposit and how does it work?
For some accommodations or during specific periods a security deposit may be required. This will be clearly indicated when you make your booking. The deposit is paid in advance and serves as assurance for leaving your accommodation or pitch in good condition. If everything is in order on departure, the deposit amount will be refunded to your account within 14 days.
From what age am I allowed to book with RCN Holiday Parks?
The primary booker must be 18 years of age or older.
What is a preferred booking?
With a preferred booking you have the choice of a specific campsite pitch or accommodation. When you book a place or number as a preference, you secure it on your reservation.
You pay €35 per preferred pitch or accommodation as preference fees.
