Technician & Gardening Employee

RCN Val de Cantobre , Nant - Aveyron

Are you the skilled, inquisitive and adventurous-minded handyman and do you have green fingers as well? Are you sociable and keen on working in the open air? Then we have a fabulous, varied job role for you at one of the most beautiful locations in France!

Who we are

RCN Val de Cantobre lies in the middle of the unspoilt Les Grands Causses Regional Natural Park with breath-taking, panoramic views over limestone highlands and wooded hills. The terraces are situated on the southern side of the mountain and always in the sun! The surroundings are perfect for cyclists and hikers. But for those who like adventure there are plenty of sporting challenges such as canoeing, canyoning, paragliding or extreme bungee jumping with leaps from 46 to 107 metres height!

Your role

As a technician and gardening employee you will carry out a range of tasks in those areas at our beautiful holiday park. Together with your team, you will be looking after maintenance of the grounds, the swimming pool, the gardens and/or the facilities so that everything looks in apple-pie order. You’ll be helping our guests to have that carefree holiday feeling at a lovingly maintained holiday park.

What you will be doing

You will be responsible for the operational maintenance of buildings and hire facilities. You will carry out maintenance work to the installations (electrical and water), pipes and other ground-related activities and keeping the inventory in order. Has a lightbulb broken or is there a problem in the shower block? You’ll make sure that this is fixed as soon as possible. You will do all the pruning, ensure the camping pitches are neatly mown and look after general maintenance such as cleaning the swimming pool. The latter activity includes monitoring the water, maintaining the terraces around the pool and cleaning the water in the pool.

What we are looking for

A lot! But that’s what makes it so challenging and instructive. Working in a holiday park puts big demands on flexibility. Needless to say, you understand that this job will entail working at weekends and on public holidays, all during the holiday season.

You:

  • are at least 18 years old
  • are technically skilled
  • are sociable, hospitable and enthusiastic
  • have relevant training and are educated to senior secondary vocational level in terms of work and intellectual ability
  • knowledge of French, Dutch and/or German is not essential but is a nice-to-have
  • preferably in possession of a certificate in first aid /emergency safety at work
  • can provide a recent Certificate of Conduct
  • are available for a minimum of 6 weeks in July and August

What we offer

Working in a holiday atmosphere for a growing organisation! A job full of variety at a fantastic location. We will give you a lot of autonomy and self-responsibility. As an employee with us you’ll have lots of space for new ideas and excellent growth opportunities for self-development. You’ll be in the countryside, meeting lots of pleasant visitors as part of a tight team of pleasant colleagues at one of France’s most enjoyable holiday parks. Accommodation at the park is possible but not mandatory. If you stay in the park, you will be charged a small contribution. You will be working under a French contract. The French working conditions for campsites (Collective Labour Agreement known as HPA=Hôtellerie de Plein Air) will apply.
