RCN Val de Cantobre
This part of southern France is not only blessed with beautiful landscapes and untouched nature, it also has many historical and cultural places of interest. Old towns with churches and fortresses dating back to the Middle Ages or even the Roman era let you relive the glorious past. The two world-famous caves located in Aven Armand and Roquefort also merit a visit.
Roquefort-sur-Soulzon owes its location to the collapse of part of the Combalou, a rock formation south of the village, about a million years ago. The world-famous Roquefort cheese has its roots here, in the Roquefort-sur-Soulzon village. The blue cheese is made from milk from sheep that roam the Causses slopes. Many cheese makers' cellars are open to visitors.
