Our Recent getaway to RCN Utrecht Bos

We always love our forest getaway, particularly as we live in the city of Amsterdam. Originally from Australia, we are a family that longes for the solitude and peace of the bush. It reminds us of home - though the Netherlands is also our home now. Even though the week we came was raining for most of the time, we managed to have lots of fun building forts in the bush, climbing trees and going on bushwalks. I enjoyed using dried leaves and sticks to create some cyanotype sun prints that I made any time the sun popped out from behind the clouds. The cabin was very 'gezellig' so when it was really wet we still enjoyed being indoors. The kids also loved doing the daily activities with Alex and Sammy. They were very excited about filling up their passports with stickers. The only thing we were surprised to find was building machinery quite close to our cabin that was going during the day. There was a building project underway and it was quite loud. It was ok once we were inside the cabin, but it would have been good to know this was happening before we booked that particular location.
