WINE MUSEUM

At the end of the 19th century, when there wasn’t a means of preventing it, all the vines were destroyed by an insect (phylloxera). This was a disaster for the local population. Some wine farmers started growing tobacco, which became an important agricultural product in the region. Luckily, the vines in Bergerac, Cahors and Bordeaux escaped harm. In Bergerac there is a wine museum: La Maison du Vin.
