The journey by boat from Cannes to Îles de Lérins takes about 15 to 20 minutes. The islands offer visitors an idyllic setting, unspoilt nature and a unique history. As well as historic treasures and lush woodland, the Lérin Islands are rich in flora and fauna in the sea. The islands are covered in Aleppo pines and there is a holm oak wood. The maquisor shrubland, consists of mastic shrubs, myrtle, olive trees, white and pink cistus, honeysuckle and clematis. The woods of the Lérin Islands are home to numerous sorts of animal, like the pheasant, the Montpelier snake, the Eurasian scops owl, the kestrel and the hedgehog.
