Description

Camping RCN Laacher See covers 7 hectares. The camping pitches are easily accessible and have a flat layout. The campsite is located in the Vulkan Eifel National Park. Many spots offer a stunning view over the crater lake.

All camping pitches have their own electricity connection and a water tap nearby. The campsite is situated in a sunny location but also has the necessary shaded areas due to the natural vegetation.

Sanitary facilities
There are modern sanitary facilities. In the two sanitary buildings, you'll find a baby and children's area. We also gladly welcome guests with disabilities; there are adapted showers for them.

Various playground equipment is spread across the site. These are indicated on the map.

Car
On all camping pitches, the car must be parked at the pitch.

Pets
Pets are welcome (for a fee). Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed on the sunbathing area by the lake.

We loved Laacher See

Overall, our family loved our stay at Laacher See. Positives - The pitch was a great size, it was fantastic to have its own electric and water tap, and the hedges gave privacy from neighbours, and had lovely views of the beautiful lake. The shower and toilet block had plenty of cubicles, and were kept clean. We only left site to head into the town of Mendig to the supermarket, we spent all of our time enjoying the lake - hiring paddleboards, which were reasonably priced, was a highlight! The Blockhaus was great - we only wish it was open a bit later! We enjoyed the takeaway fries and delicious ice creams from the shop (walnut and cassis were our favourites), had lovely fresh croissants and baguettes each morning, and had a great meal in the Blockhaus! Our only negative comment is that our pitch was right next to the Blockhaus, which became a hangout area for kids at night, with between 20-40 kids each night who were very loud until gone 11pm every night, which meant that we couldnt have relaxing evenings and our kids were kept awake by the noise. Was a bit of a shame.

Wonderful stay

This is our second time visiting Laacher See and it didn't disappoint and we'll come back! We love the lakeside setting and the fact we can swim several times a day. Also, the football court is great plus the views and how clean the toilet and shower blocks are. Recommended!

Lakeside camp site

Very nice pitch overlooking the lake with plenty of space. Toilet and shower facilities etc clean and pleasant. Pity restaurant was closed on a Tuesday, but basic food still available. Really enjoyable stay.
