Castle Eltz

Fairy-tale castle

Perched on a steep spur in a tributary valley of the Moselle between Koblenz and Cochem, is the Burg Eltz. The edifice is regarded as a prototype of the German Ritterburg, or knight’s castle, and is more than 850 years old, surviving a turbulent history and war.

The castle’s location in the Eltzer Forest is dazzling! The forest is a conservation area with a wide range of trails for the nature-lover and walker.
